Bubble Bowls!

Bubble bowls are a lot of fun to make and are a good introduction to the blowing process of making bowls. This would be a great class to take after a paperweight class or making a flower. The whole process will get you familiar with the tools and the movements it takes to be a glassblower!
Class Description: First, I will walk you through a demonstration of making a bubble bowl. Next, you will be provided with the option of 2-3 colors and some guidance to choose a pattern you would like to capture within your bowl. Then the fun begins! You will first blow a bubble to the desired size and then we will then heat only half of it. While gently moving the pipe vertically, the bubble will suck inwards to make the double walled bowl. We finish it by adding a clear foot to stand and voila, bubble bowl!

Traditional Bowl!
$140/person
This bowl will give you a good sense of what glassblowing is all about but the best part is that it is functional. Imagine enjoying your morning cereal or filling it with cute little succulent plants. A great way to enjoy your accomplishments is to use them!
Class Description: After an expert demonstration from yours truly, you will choose 2-3 colors for your bowl. I will assist you in deciding on a cool pattern to make your piece your own. Then we go through all the steps of glassmaking from manipulating the the glass with hand tools, to heating as you work, and even transferring the glass to another rod, which happens to be the trickiest part. Don't worry though, you're in good hands. We've taught thousands of classes and know exactly how to work with your abilities and comfort levels to get you the desired outcome of making a piece of blown glass from start to finish.

Fluted Bowl!
$150/person
Jazz it up a notch and make your ordinary bowl wild! This stye is often a great centerpiece on a kitchen counter or coffee table.
Class Description: As with the other bowls, this class starts off with a demonstration. Next you will choose 2-3 colors and I will help you design an elegant pattern for your piece. We will then walk through all the glassblowing steps together to create your very own piece of art!
GUIDELINES
- Please arrive about 15-20 minutes early to your scheduled class.
- Minimum per class is 4 people. If you have fewer than that, individuals may be added to fill the class or your group may be scheduled back to back with another small group. Let's all be friends!
- Each group must select the same thing to make. This helps with the overall rhythm of the workshop because I will be demonstrating what you are making at the beginning of the session, so its good we are all on the same page!
- Everyone must sign a waiver. Glassblowing can be dangerous but trust in us to keep you safe, we've been doing this a long time!
- We take a 50% deposit upfront to hold your spot in the calendar and if you decide to cancel you must do it at least 7 days in advance or you lose your deposit. This is a very time sensitive and expensive art so ample time for us to fill our schedule is a top priority.
- Any special requirements for any individuals must be acknowledged upon scheduling so we can make the proper arrangements to give everyone a great and safe time. An extra glass artist may be called in to help.
- Everyone must wear closed-toe shoes. NO SANDALS. Save those toes for the beach!
- Finished work will be ready for pick up after 48 hours.

Blowing glass is a fascinating medium. It's a material that you can never truly touch with your hands. It takes specialized tools that are centuries old in design. Nothing feels more amazing than grabbing molten glass with a large pair of tweezers and stretching it out. It is truly a bizarre and fascinating world to experience!
